Trees to Suit Every Back Type
Saddle iQ combines anatomical research with comfort for the horse and rider. Our saddles are customisable in the field by partnering with saddle fitters. This ensures a fit that is dialled to yours and your horse’s biomechanical needs. First they will select the correct foundation of the saddle, the tree, to suit your horse's particular back type...
A Frame Tree
Designed for horses with a more ‘A-Frame’ lateral back shape, with a medium to high wither, and more arc (or longitudinal curving shape) through the horse’s back. Longer tree points as standard for more support and higher wither clearance.
Sports Tree - COMING SOON
A more U-shaped "Open Head" at the front of the tree. Based off the bigger-shouldered, modern warmblood back shape, but also suitable for many other breeds with the same back characteristics. Medium height and length wither, flatter through the back shape. Long tree points as standard but can be modified if required.
Hoop Tree -
COMING SOON
For the wide, flat barrels! This tree suits horses with a low and short wither profile, flat and broad back, broad shoulders, and straight back profile longitudinally. Short tree points.
Dial the Fit
Once the Saddlefitter orders the correct tree, they choose the correct panel depth for your horse's back balance. Then gullet widths, flock, girth points, and flap angles are dialled to ensure the optimum fit and comfort for both horse and rider.
Wool flocked Panels with Depth Options
Our wool flocked panels are easily removable and replaceable, with 3 different depth options to cater to a multitude of horse back balance points: ranging from downhill, level and uphill back shapes.
This enables the saddle fitter to create the optimal seat balance point, alter the flocking profile for extra adjustments, and change the panels in the case where a horse may be growing or changing shape. Panels positioning can also be adjusted in width, to accommodate different spine widths.
Changeable Gullets
Our synthetic trees feature changeable gullet systems without distorting the tree, making them even more versatile and adjustable. In our Sports and Hoop tree saddles, the gullets are uniquely designed to accomodate wider shoulders and different wither heights, keeping your saddle perfectly balanced, and your horse freedom to move - no matter what their shape.
Girth Point Attachment Options
Detachable girth points that allow instant placement options from either the tree point or under the stirrup bar, plus a rear V Web. This gives your Fitter the perfect choice of positioning, depending on your horse’s needs.
Flap Angles, Flap Lengths and Adjustable Knee Blocks
Saddle iQ allows for three different flap angles in all the models and even more instant versatility in the GP X-Over.
Our unique design feature adjusts the flap for a more forward flap angle, middle or straighter flap angle for the ultimate in rider comfort and shape. Various flap length options are available for rider leg lengths, and knee blocks are adjustable on velcro for perfect placement.
The Importance of Precision Fitting
Horse Health
Professional fitting prevents muscle atrophy and spinal damage caused by asymmetric or excessive pressure. By ensuring the tree and panels align with your horse's unique anatomy, we promote biomechanical freedom and long-term musculoskeletal wellness.
Rider Comfort
A correctly fitted saddle supports your natural center of gravity and pelvic alignment. This connection reduces physical strain and fatigue, enabling the subtle, precise communication required for high-level athletic performance.
Cost Savings
Investing in qualified fitting reduces long-term costs by preventing expensive veterinary bills and orthopedic treatments. A well-adjusted saddle maintains its structural value and longevity, serving as a vital asset for your horse's career.
